We have been providing custom and hand crafted jewelry for self, family and friends for quite a while now but we've been involved in producing quality one-of-a-kind art pieces for well over 20 years, combining our individual talents in metal work, design, engraving and in just plain knowing what we like.

There are only two employees at Art Plus Two/Monkeyshines Jewelry. Jerry and Debbie Whitehead and their philosophy is simple. They love to create, so that's what they do; and they appreciate quality so that's how they do it.
Jerry has over 20 years in metalworking behind him. He's manufactured everything from surgical equipment to parts for NASA. He is a Certified Master Gunsmith and has built custom, one-of-a-kind firearms for clients all over the United States. His motto remains as it has always been, "I can do that."
Debbie is a published author of two fiction novels, www.debrapwhitehead.com , is involved in the Strand Theatre renovation and restoration project and is a charter member of the Hohenwald Arts Council. She also loves jewelry, so when commercial offerings didn't satisfy her need to shine, she enlisted the help of her resident Artisan and together they entered the world of gemstones and precious metals. They visited shows, talked to artist and read everything they could find on the subject until they finally felt confident to start producing. After many, many long hours of study, work and trial and error, the rewards are obvious. Their pieces are forged with minute attention to detail with their objective always in sight--to achieve a final product that is both beautiful and of superior quality. Oh and there's one more thing. They must be able to produce the pieces at a reasonable price.
In 2009 Debbie was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a year of treatments, surgery and recovery. As the recovery progressed, she realized she greatly missed a former passion - art. So she took up the brush again and started painting. The result of this rekindled love will soon been seen in these pages.
Jerry Whitehead, Chief metal artisan With over 20 years experience in a wide range of metal work and a keen eye for detail, Jerry was a natural to the jewelry creation process.
Debbie Whitehead, Chief beader and designer Debbie's love for jewelry made her an early student of rings and things and her jewelry box overflows with purchases; but it was soon obvious that commercial offerings were not enough. Then she priced custom pieces and after the shock subsided, the practical side of her took over. And the rest, as they say, is history.
